| Government Forces Scores Against Communist Terrorists
Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City – In a report to SOLCOM Chief, MGEN DELFIN N BANGIT from MGEN JEFFREY SODUSTA, Commander 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, communist terrorists inflicting atrocities in Sorsogon are experiencing debacles from their encounter with government troops.
The 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division, Philippine Army continues to gain tactical victory following an encounter with the communist terrorist group at Brgy Camedo, Irosin, Sorsogon at about 2:30 pm yesterday. The encounter resulted to the killing of one CT member, the capture of another CT member identified as Brenda G. Viernes and the recovery of one cal. 45 w/ one magazine and 21 rounds of ammunitions. It was also disclosed that there were several CTs that were wounded during the encounter.
The said encounter was a hot pursuit operation conducted by an eight man team under LT ARCEL SOCO of the 3RD Scout Ranger Battalion under the 9th Infantry Division, following an encounter last 22 May 2008 at about 6:30 pm at Brgy San Jose, Bulusan, Sorsogon.
Other items that were recovered during the clash were six (6) civilian packs, one (1) laptop, two (2) pcs CDs, one (1) handy cam, 31 pieces of AA battery, two (2) pieces flash disk, one (1) portable HDD, four (4) smart sim cards, one (1) TM sim card, three (3) hammocks, one (1) medicine kit, five (5) video tapes, enemy documents and CT’s personnal belongings.
The success of the operation is attributed to the support of the residents in the area who are tired of the evil, deceitful and self serving ways of the CPP-NPA.The communist terrorists are now fighting a losing battle for a cause that is even dead and proven inefficient.

Gov’t troops recovered 2 M16 Rifles used by NPAs
Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City – In a report to SOLCOM Chief, MGEN DELFIN N BANGIT from BGEN ROLAND M DETABALI, Commander 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army, government troops were able to recover 2 M16 rifles at Brgy San Isidro, Kanluran, Gumaca, Quezon at about 8:00 am on 26 May 2008. This came about when elements of 76IB received information on the location of an arms cache at said barangay from the local residents who were victims of NPA oppression and extortion. Government troops immediately reacted on the report resulting to the recovery of 2 M16 rifles, 2 steel magazines (one long and one short), 3 short alloy magazines and a bandoleer for M16.
Such feat shows that the government troops are gaining headway in getting the support of our people. Furthermore this also indicates that the residents of Gumaca, Quezon are now resenting the oppressive ways the CPP-NPA have imposed upon them for a long period of time.
